PRIOR COURSEWORK

TRANSFER OF CREDIT

Upon application to a graduate program, a student may present graduate credits completed elsewhere within the last seven years for evaluation provided the credits have not been applied to another degree. Acceptance of such credits will depend upon whether or not the courses are related to the program, that the student has obtained a grade of B or better in the course(s), and whether or not the college giving credit for the course would consider the course as acceptable for application to their degree program. Transfer of credits are not posted on a student's record until the student earns six graduate credits at Holy Family University. After admission all courses taken at other institutions for transfer credit require prior approval from a faculty advisor. Maximum allowable transfer is six graduate credits.

EXEMPTION FROM COURSEWORK

At the discretion of faculty, program administrator and/or Director of Admissions, coursework requirements may be waived because of prior coursework taken by the student. Requests for exemption are presented to the faculty in the specific school and approved by the graduate dean. An exemption does not reduce the number of credits required for the program.
