how to apply

for financial aid

It's a good idea to gather your financial paperwork together (e.g., tax returns, savings and investment statements). This information will come in handy as you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA cannot be submitted before January 1st, but should be submitted before February 15th to receive a financial aid package by April 1st.

Keep these points in mind as you apply for financial aid:

  • You must reapply for financial aid each academic year (except for some Holy Family University Scholarships)
  • All students applying for outside scholarships must inform the Financial Aid Office of the name and amount of the scholarship
  • Students may lose their aid if they do not maintain satisfactory academic progress as stated in the university catalog
  • Holy Family awards grants and scholarships to first through fourth-year students. Fifth-year students may be eligible for Federal Pell Grants, Federal Work Study and loans, but not college-based funds
